What a great week!!

We have just finished our first full week of school.  We have been very busy this week with our Unit of Inquiry learning about the friends we have and why they are our friends.  We also spent time making an essential agreement for our classroom.  This will help us remember how we all want to feel when we are in our classroom and what we want everyone to do when they are in our room.  We used our hand prints to sign the agreement.

In Language we have been practicing our names.  We used magnetic letters, letters on a string, writing on whiteboards and finger paint to spell our names out.

We have started "Jolly Phonics" and have been singing the songs that teach us how to say the letter and the sounds that the letters make. Please ask your child to sing some of the songs to you and show you the actions.  We have been concentrating on "S" this week.

In Maths we have been counting to 100, counting forwards and backwards, practicing reading and writing our numbers to 10, collecting information and talking about different ways to show the results.

We gathered information on how we all came to school.  We found out that 14 of us come by car, 1 by Tuk Tuk, 1 by bus and 2 by motorbike.  Can you see which group is which?

Also we have had our first swimming lesson and we really got to SPLASH!!  We even put our faces under the water, made starfish and some of us jumped in the big pool!!

We helped Charvy celebrate her birthday on Friday afternoon.
Happy Birthday Charvy!

Have a great weekend everyone and see you all on Monday.
