What A Way To Finish Off The Semester!

Sports Day

Sports day was thoroughly enjoyed by all. The students were full of enthusiasm and team spirit, encouraging each other through the activities. It was especially great for me to see the skills that the students had acquired over the semester during PE classes.

Enjoy the video :-)

Dress Up Day

The student council organised another dress up day of Princesses, Pirates and Pjs. It was great to see many of the students supporting the student council and enjoying the dance party under the knowledge centre at morning tea time.

WELL DONE GRADE ONE
YOU WERE ALL AWESOME!

Our Grade Ones put on a brilliant display of their learning. I was so proud of all the children for all the time, effort and hard work they put into the assembly to make it just right!

Travelling Tale

Our last travelling tale for 2017 is completed. This time we were in charge of the beginning! Enjoy our story "Pirate Adventures"

Finally we have come to the end of semester one. Wow! I can't quite believe we have reached Christmas already! Thanks to all the children for a fabulous first semester and for always bringing your smiles to the class every morning. Parents and caregivers, thank you for your kind support and help, it is very much appreciated. I wish you all a very happy holiday and looking forward to seeing the children for loads more fun and learning next semester! Have a fantatsic break everyone and see you all in the New Year.

Last week!

We had such a busy week last week getting ready for our - Three-Way-Conferences which are happening tomorrow. I didn't want to spoil the surprise by posting photos on the blog. We have been reflecting on how much we have done this Semester in Grade One and what we feel we each are doing well in. We have also spent time thinking about what we would still like to continue to improve on. We have been setting goals for ourselves and we will also ask the parents to help set a goal tomorrow for their child at the conference.

All of our work is being posted on Seesaw but we are just waiting until we have had time to share with you at the conference before posting.

Watch this space!

Conferences and Assembly!

Three Way Conferences:

Tuesday, 12th December (all day)

EY1 through to grade 5: Every child, with his/her parents, has been signed a 15 minute conference time with the homeroom teacher.

Please remember that your child will not attend school on the day of Tuesday 12th December, but your child must accompany you to school for his/her three-way conference. This is a special time for your child with you and your child's homeroom teacher and we ask that siblings do not attend the conference.

Three-way conferences are one very important form of how we share information between teachers, students and parents. During the three-way conference, parents with their child and the teacher collaborate to establish and identify your child's strengths and areas for improvement.

You will have receive a letter with this information repeated and also your three-way conference time(s).

All single subject teachers will be available to meet with you and your child on the day of your scheduled three-way conference.

Grade 1 Assembly:

Friday, 15th December: 7:45am Black Box Theatre

All Grade 1 students will present their learning during the assembly. The assembly begins at 7:45am sharp. New and leaving students will also be recognised at this assembly. You are all invited to attend and watch your child preform.

Looking forward to see you all next week

International Day!

A huge highlight of our school is International Day! Remember to save the date to join in the celebrations!

Saturday 10 February 2018 - 10am - 2pm
Waving your flag
Do you or your family want to march in the Parade of Nations? Register here! That way you’ll keep up to date with where to march and have a flag to march with! Please encourage others to register - it only takes a few seconds and it’s very helpful for our organisers.
Country booth challenge - remixed!
This year, we have redesigned our country booth competition into four separate categories. Booths can aim to have the Best National Cuisine, Best Cultural Display, Best Activity or be the Most Environmentally Friendly. Our Elementary Student Council and Environmental Action Committee will decide the winners.
Nations wanted - apply within
We have some great countries already represented, but there’s room for plenty more! If you would like to host a booth, please sign up using this form. Please note: Country booth hosts must be an adult (parent, faculty or staff member). Questions about hosting a booth? Please email communications@ispp.edu.kh.
Born to perform?
We’ve seen some really terrific performances on stage over the years, and we think there’s even better to come! Music, dance, or something else that demonstrates your culture? Please register your interest or find out more details by emailing events@ispp.edu.kh.
Wondering about something?
Do you have a question about International Day? No inquiry too big or small. Email communications@ispp.edu.kh and we’ll let you know.

What's been happening?

We had such a busy time last week and this week was no different. We have had a lot going on in our class and we have already shared some of that with you all on Seesaw.

Heart Maps

We shared with you on Seesaw our beautiful heart maps. The students had so many things that they held close to their heart it was so wonderful to see :-)

Also we expressed ourselves and our emotions through colour. We all showed with our faces how we would express various feelings. Then we created a picture using colours that represented that feeling for us. Finally we wrote a sentence about how we relate to that feeling.

A very big thank you to 'Granny Jane' (Aoife's Grandma) who came in on Wednesday as our Mystery Reader! She is here visiting from Ireland and it was an absolute delight to see the excitement on Aoife's face when her Granny arrived in the classroom. We were treated to not one but two books that had the class completely engrossed. Granny Jane you are welcome back anytime :-)

Grade 12 Drama

We were lucky enough to be invited by a group of grade 12 students to watch a play that they had created. We thought it was hilarious, with very funny character names and lots of audience participation. We gave them the thumbs up.

Have a great weekend everyone!
