Research, research, research.....

Wow we have had such a busy week getting our ocean projects ready for the exhibition. The children have done such an amazing job with these and their supporting art piece. I am very proud of all their hard work and ability to research and share the information they have learned. I know they are all very excited to show you around the exhibition on Tuesday during the three-way conferences.

I don't want to spoil it for you so here are just a few pictures of them hard at work :-)

In Maths we have been learning about fractions: whole, half, quarter and sharing items equally. We have had gummy bears to help us share with our friends, shapes to cut in halves and quarters and learning which piece of pizza you want for yourself!

We also looked at capacity and had to figure out which cup, jug or glass was the fullest, emptiest and closest to half full. The children enjoyed recognising, discussing and colouring the correct quantities. We then worked as a team and completed a puzzle....sadly our world map was missing a piece but the worst part was that it was the piece that had New Zealand on it :-(

Some of the students made a short movie on the app 'Explain Everything'. Please take a look on your child's page to see them skip counting in twos, fives and tens. We also did some problem solving and sharing equally.

*Please note that under your child's individual page, Art and Music have added some short videos.

We helped Dita celebrate her seventh birthday on Thursday.  A very happy birthday to you Dita. I hope you had a great day and enjoy your party this weekend at Monkey Business.  Thanks for the awesome Minion cupcakes, they were delicious!

Have a great weekend everyone!
