Fun & Games

Our last week before our break for Khmer New Year was a very busy one indeed. We had a lot going on, but it wasn't all work and no fun :-)

We were treated to some very fun games and learnt about Khmer New Year and how it is celebrated.

We also started tuning into our new Unit of Inquiry which 'How The World Works' - Insects. Our central idea is: Insects, like all living things in our world, have a purpose.

We went out and about to explore our school environment and we found heaps of interesting insects to look at. Take a look at our video.

Student-Led-Conferences!

Thank you so much for sharing in your child's learning last week. All the children were so proud to have their family members at school and I was very lucky to be able to see how confident and excited they all were leading you around the activities in the classroom :-)

Enjoy the video of all the fabulous pictures we got of you all sharing in your child learning.

Welcoming a new friend!

We are delighted to have had Andrea join our class this week. She has made friends with everyone and is a very welcomed addition to our class.

We went to the computer lab to see Mr Matt. We were doing some computer skills which in turn was a 3D shapes maths lesson too. Maths really can be fun!

We got to play on a very cool website @tinkercad and we became architects using 3D shapes to create all sorts of constructions.

We have been busy working very hard on our 'Personal History' books for student-led-conferences as well as all the other things that we will be sharing with you next Wednesday. I hope you have enjoyed the Seesaw posts this week by the students and getting a glimpse of their work also in PE, Art and Music.

Our Grade 4 buddies came to help us organise our 'Personal History' books.

We went to the Grade 5 PYPX to see all the amazing work that they had been doing. It was very interesting and we learnt a lot.

Delighted to share with everyone our completed travelling tale. Please check out our journey on our blog posts. Here it is....

'Chaos in Candyland'

We were very happy with the end result and what the other schools contributed to the tale. We also got to raise awareness of the #TeachSDGs and

An environmental group 'The green ninjas' at UNIS in Hanoi took action to find a resolution for the problems in the story.

We were very happy with the end result!

What Is The Best Part Of Me?

These images have been shared with family members via Seesaw but I also wanted to share what other educators think of our class work! As you will see down the side tab of our class blog we also have a twitter account running. I posted some of these beautiful images to share with other teachers around the world. Here is what they had to say :-)

Going further with our Unit of Inquiry - 'Where We Are In Place And Time'
What is the best part of you?
#Inspired by the stunning images from the book 'Best Part of Me' we delved deeper to extend our thinking to create our own beautiful images with an important message.
We want to encourage self esteem and diversity in our class!

Amazing job everyone! Beautiful pictures matched with thoughtful thinking.

We have been creating 3D shapes this week in Maths. We shared some of our creations on Seesaw.

We hung out with our buddies and had a great game of hide and seek.

We also helped our friend Ivy celebrate her seventh birthday! A very happy birthday to you Ivy and thanks for sharing the delicious cake with us.

Have a Great weekend everyone!

Getting a helping hand!

We were very lucky to have some fantastic little helpers come to our class to help us 'The Master Cleaners'!

Mr Mark's KG class are taking action by spreading smiles and showing other classes how they can be good community helpers by keep our learning environments clean and sweet smelling.

We wrote our own success criteria to help us with our personal narrative writing. It was very helpful and the students used it to check their work and make edits to improve their 'small moments'.

We also shared with our friends in the class to get feedback on our writing. We did a great job to help guide and support each other.

A lot of our work has been shard on Seesaw. We hope you are enjoying seeing all the things were are doing.

Buddies

Our buddies created games and we got to try them out! Some were a bit difficult so our buddies need to make a few changes and then we can try them again on Thursday.

The Annual Granny Awards show was fantastic. Ms. Danielle will be posting the commercial that our class made to Seesaw very soon.

Celebrations & Farewells!

We have been lucky enough to be part of another 'Travelling Tale.' This time we were in charge of creating the story! This is a very important job because we have to think of the setting, make the characters and think of a title for the story.

Brainstorming our ideas:

Watch this space for our new 'Tale' - "Chaos in Candyland!"

We have continued to work very hard on our 'Me' books. We don't want to share too much with you because it is something that we want to share with you at student-led-conferences. Here is a sneak peek of us hard at work :-)

We helped our friend Leo celebrate his 7th birthday! A very happy birthday to you Leo, we hope you had a great day and a fabulous celebration in the weekend. Thanks for sharing your delicious cupcakes :-)

Farewells

Sadly we say farewell to these two amazing friends today. We will miss you both very much, especially those contagious smiles! May your next adventure be filled with great opportunities to build on your knowledge and explore your passions.
