Our classroom has been transformed!
The children have been really busy this week at table top times in the morning creating things to use in our imagination area. We have some very creative thinkers in our class! We have a boat, a dinosaur and a racing car. It seems that any chance the children get they are working on various projects. I can't wait to see what they have planned for our imagination area next week.
As a class we also read two fantastic books.
"A box is just a box . . . unless it's not a box. From mountain to rocket ship, a small rabbit shows that a box will go as far as the imagination allows. When pretend feels so real that it actually becomes real—when the imagination takes over and inside a cardboard box, a child is transported to a world where anything is possible."
"With a stick in hand, the options are endless—whether it's conducting an orchestra, painting a masterpiece, or slaying a dragon—give a child a stick and let imagination take over and the magic begin."
So after reading these two books the children sat on the mat in a circle and I put a large spoon (soup ladle) in the middle of the circle. I asked them what it was.....well it certainly wasn't a spoon.
Take a look....
